Iain and lewis

Iain and his son Lewis are a warm & knowledgeable father & son team who can give you a truly multi-generational account of what it’s like to live in the remote Highlands of Scotland.

Together, they offer fully bespoke journies through the highlands, islands, and greater Scotland in general, covering history, ancestry, geology, whisky, golf, culture, film & tv treks, and folklore of all sorts.

Both come from hospitality backgrounds and have moved into this much more personal and personalized look at their culture and country for extra special visitors.

Above and beyond all the sorts of household-name destinations that you might wish to visit throughout the country and the islands, Iain and Lewis also have the sort of deep connection and knowledge of Scotland that allows them to fluently suggest many worthy alternatives likely to be less busy and equally or more spectacular than the usual suspects.

Lewis' favourite destination is Glencoe, the scenic drive and dramatic landscapes truly epitomise what Scotland is known for and it takes his breath away every time he passes through. He's also a big Harry Potter fan which is where a lot of the scenes were filmed!

In his spare time, he's an avid golfer, playing off of a 2 handicap, and has has the privilege to play some of the best courses in Scotland including Cabot Highlands, St Andrews Old Course and Dornoch Links!

Iain's favourite sightseeing stop is Cawdor Castle, the pristine gardens and beautiful setting is quite remarkable. Referenced in Shakespeare's Macbeth, the castle is dressed on the inside as a Jacobean Manor and walking through it feels like you're truly stepping backwards in history.

Lewis is a very keen reader having studied English at the University of Stirling and his most recent favourite field of personal study is geology.

In 2024, they were nominated for Best Travel Company at the Inverness Business Awards, and are hoping for a win at the 2025 Thistle awards.
