Coyly self-described as ‘your friend of your friend who loves art history, and Florence', Michele is probably happiest sharing all of this with his guests.
Born in Calabria in the south of Italy, he started working as a guide after completing his studying. He’s been hiking and biking, sailing and skiing, parachuting, climbing, travelling, and gardening in his time. Before coming to rest in his favourite city, Florence Michele has lived in the Dolomites, the Maldives, Seychelles, in the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand.
Besides his love of study and reading, Michele has also travelled extensively, through jungles, deserts, and of course up and down mountains, summitting some of the highest in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, as well as Central and South America.
He’s worked as a hiking guide, mountain bike instructor, skiing ranger, snorkeling guide, as the manager of luxury boutique hotels, and spent a stint working for the Italian National Mountain Rescue as a volunteer.
A professional for coming up on 20 years, Michele can take you to any museum, and cover pretty much any topic you might imagine. History, culture, cuisine, Jewish heritage, art history, and little bits of botany are all on tap in spades, and he also loves to share his knowledge of Florence’s outstanding collection of Oltrarno artisanal workshops with his guests.
When not guiding, he has a 20 year old daughter, and loves working with kids.

As required, all manner of private transport can be booked in and around Florence and Tuscany, and tickets of all sorts can be arranged. Michele has a deep repertoire of excellent suggestions in the fields of shopping, restaurants, great coffee, amazing gelato, roof top bars and wineries of all sorts imaginable.
